Exercise 1
Write down your comments the advert or poster you’re analysing, using the headings provided in the grid below.
- Describe the purpose of the campaign
- Describe the main elements used in the poster or the advert.

- What images/ideas do they suggest ?

- What is the message that the words and pictures are aiming to communicate ?

Audence
- Who is the campaign aimed at ?
- How do you know this ?
- What is the context of the campaign ?
- (When and where is the campaign displayed ?)
- How does the choice of the context for the campaign suggest the implied audience
- What is the purpose of the ad
- What ideas/feelings does the overall message aim to convey ?
- What features of the campaign were effective and why ?
